There is an emergency call button where, when setup, can give the emergency talk group priority over all other phone radio actions.

The Nextel network is useful in scenarios where paging and/or an intercom system is otherwise needed such as classrooms, doctor offices, etc. In an emergency, rather than call 20 different classrooms, a talk group can be setup where all the radios can be lit up at once. In doctor's office, it can be used to call all doctors when needed.
